Getting to know Sharina Shahrin

Sharina Shahrin (@sharinashahrin_) is a mixed-media visual artist known for her expressive work exploring femininity and identity. With a background in creative direction and fine art, Sharina’s artistry transcends boundaries, blending traditional techniques with modern mediums.

Her work has been showcased across Malaysia, the UK, Czech Republic, and Turkey, earning her collaborations with renowned brands like Huawei, Disney, and Vans. But beyond her art, Sharina is a passionate advocate for art education, conducting workshops and talks to empower her local community.  

Sharina has collaborated with local and international companies such as Nelissa Hilman, Huawei, Lenovo, Disney, Red Bull Studios, and VANS.

Sharina’s Creative Journey

Sharina’s journey into the art world began early. Growing up in a nurturing environment that encouraged self-expression, she found herself drawn to art as a way to communicate emotions.

Living in countries like Australia, Canada, and the UK further shaped her worldview and artistic sensibilities. London, with its vibrant cultural hub, played a particularly influential role in Sharina’s development, exposing her to iconic works by artists like Picasso and Van Gogh.

Everyday Studios – A Space for Creativity

During a gap year before completing her degree, Sharina established Everyday Studios, a creative space born out of practicality and passion. What began as a personal studio soon evolved into a hub for collaboration and community engagement.

From hosting workshops to curating exhibitions, Sharina’s studio reflects her philosophy of making art accessible. She envisions it as a welcoming space where artists and art enthusiasts can connect and inspire one another.

While art may seem glamorous, Sharina is candid about the challenges behind the scenes. “It’s not enough to just create; you have to be business-minded,” she emphasizes.

From managing client relationships to handling finances, Sharina wears multiple hats to sustain her career. Her ability to merge creativity with practicality has enabled her to collaborate with leading brands while maintaining her artistic integrity.
