Saudagar is a new restaurant in Kuala Lumpur, located inside the Sultan Abdul Samad Building on Dataran Merdeka. Completed in 1897, with its copper domes and clock tower, it is one of the most recognisable buildings in the country. We've restored our space rather than gutted it, keeping the arches, the brickwork and the proportions the way they were built.

We're early. The team is small, the systems are still being written, and the people joining now are the ones who shape how this place runs. Every guest celebrating with us gets their table decorated on the house — not an upsell, just how we think a celebration should feel.

We're a group, but a small one. Nobody here is stuck doing one narrow thing, and there's no layer of management between you and a decision.

Most of our team is young. We hire on attitude and teach the skill — whether that's editing, shooting, decoration or running a floor. You'll be trained by someone senior, not handed a login and left on YouTube.

Expect a fast pace and real ownership early. Expect weekends and evenings, because we're a restaurant group. And expect to work across both brands, which is the fastest way to learn this business.
