Our Story

Our story

Our founder, Jodrey Jo, spent years working inside other people’s systems: hotels in Australia, cabin crew for international airlines, government interpreting, and network marketing. Along the way, families kept asking her for help with English, first with translation, then tutoring. One family told another, and slowly those small sessions grew into something bigger.

That’s how JoJo’s Journey was born in Mont Kiara: a premium English coaching and literacy center for kids aged 4–12 and adults, serving expat and local families from Korea, Japan, China, Malaysia, and beyond.

What We Do

We don’t believe in endless worksheets. Our kids read real books, the kind that make you think, imagine, and ask questions. Through reading clubs, drama, storytelling, and our Story Makers Camp, children learn to speak up and express their own ideas in English.

For adults, especially parents new to Malaysia, we offer 1:1 and group coaching to help them rebuild confidence and find their own voice in a new country.

Our Mission: Not No.1, But Only One

We’re not trying to be the biggest center or the number one academy. We want every student, child or adult, to discover what makes them only one. Their own voice, their own story, their own pace.

Our culture

We’re a small team, and that’s exactly what makes it special. There’s no big office hierarchy here. You’ll work closely with the founder, our coaches, and the families who walk through our doors every day.

A safe place to try, ask, and grow. Mistakes are part of learning, for our students and for our team. You won’t be judged for asking questions or getting something wrong. We’d rather you speak up than stay quiet.

Your ideas matter. If you see a better way to organize the library, run the front desk, or welcome a new family, tell us. Some of our best systems came from team suggestions.

Kids, books, and a lot of heart. Our center is full of stories, laughter, and the occasional chaos of a 5-year-old’s first drama performance. If you enjoy being around children and seeing them grow, you’ll love it here.

A truly international team. You’ll work alongside native English-speaking and Malaysian coaches, and meet families from Korea, Japan, China, and Malaysia. Every day is a little lesson in different cultures.
