As a young engineer, I realized early that the conflict between the oretical experts and field practitioners have cause a rift in beliefs; building conventionally versus what is structurally optimal. It is this confusion that has led to much wastage, both financial and time. 

We have learn to stop harping on material cost and

instead start checking for efficiency in usage. More

materials in the wrong places will not make any

structure better.

It's time to trim the fat and curb wastages in the

construction industry. As I've highlighted above the

overuse of materials never correlates to a sounder

structure however the optimal usage of material

does.
