Shanghai Tunnel Engineering and Construction (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (1239440-U) was incorporated in Kuala Lumpur on 20th July 2017 and one of the subsidiaries company of SHANGHAI TUNNEL ENGINEERING CO. LTD. (STEC) with head office in Shanghai, China. STEC was established in 1965. It is fully owned by the state government and listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. 

STEC is ranked 4th by total turnover for Contractors in China and also the top-ranking infrastructure company in Shanghai. STEC is also the first TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) manufacturer (Design and Manufacture) in China. In Singapore, STEC is on the TOP 5 ranking of preferred MRT contractors recognized by the Singapore Government. STEC also established branches in Hong Kong, Macau and India while in Poland and Angola, STEC is involved in the general construction sector. 

To date, STEC is operating and managing 5 international branches with 13 on-going projects worth hundreds of million US dollars in 5 countries.
