Accenture Cargo is a practice area within the Travel unit in Accenture, and a leading advisor to the global air freight and broader transportation industry. The practice advises many of the world’s best performing airlines, shipping lines, integrators, forwarders, airports, leasing firms, etc. A dedicated data analytics and business intelligence team is responsible for providing leading industry databases and analytical tools to our clients, including comprehensive air and express cargo demand & supply databases, forecasts, and optimization tools. The data analytics team operates from offices in Amsterdam and Kuala Lumpur. Our objective is to deliver exceptional customer service while constantly enhancing and innovating both existing and new products to continue our growth trajectory.

About the function

Accenture Cargo provides a suite of market leading data products and tools to the global aviation and transportation industries. We pride ourselves on delivering solutions of the highest quality to our clients and are now looking for a passionate Data Analyst to join our Kuala Lumpur team.

As a Data Analyst you will develop new and further refine established state-of-the art data products and analytical tools that help our clients in their commercial decision-making related to network, fleet, revenue management, procurement, etc. You will be developing your technical, analytical and communication skill set as well as your understanding of the global aviation and transportation industry. The learning curve will be exciting and will enable you to build a foundation of skills and experience which will prepare you for more senior roles.

You will be part of a team committed to expand our product portfolio, and to further improve our already high level of data quality and customer service. You will closely cooperate with a product lead to facilitate the continued development of a specific product roadmap related to airline and ocean-liner’s networks. You will be working with multiple and complex sources of information including immense databases. You will drive the adoption of new and exciting analytical techniques and explore applications to further develop our products and tools. Your day-to-day activities include conducting analysis, developing databases and analytical models, evaluating, and improving the methodology of our tools and products. As well as defining requirements for BI tools and liaising with clients on market trends and product usage. All this by working closely with team members in both our main offices, in Kuala Lumpur and in Amsterdam.

The Data Analytics & Business Intelligence team is close knit, multi-cultural, and committed to having fun while delivering high impact products, tools, and analytics to our clients. The team also works in close partnership with the consulting teams consisting of high-powered and talented individuals, who have a blend of airline industry and top-tier strategy consulting experience.

Job Requirements

Position Overview

We are seeking a talented Analyst with a strong developer background to join our team and support our Cargo Model Optimization Tool. This role combines technical expertise with analytical skills to provide top-notch support and drive continuous improvement of our product.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for the Cargo Model Optimization Tool, addressing user queries and resolving issues
• Collaborate with the development team to implement updates and new features
• Conduct data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimization
• Develop and maintain documentation for the tool, including user guides and technical specifications
• Assist in the customization of the tool for specific client needs
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the tool's algorithms and models
• Participate in client meetings to understand requirements and present solutions

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in software development or data analysis roles
• Strong programming skills, preferably in Python or Java
• Experience with data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
• Familiarity with optimization algorithms and mathematical modeling is a plus
• Knowledge of database management systems and SQL
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
