We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Firewall and IPS Engineer to join our cybersecurity team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of advanced firewall and intrusion prevention systems to protect our network infrastructure from sophisticated cyber threats.
Key Responsibilities:
· Advanced Firewall Management: Design, configure, and manage complex firewall solutions, ensuring robust network security.
· Intrusion Prevention Systems: Deploy, configure, and maintain advanced IPS solutions to detect and prevent sophisticated network intrusions.
· Security Architecture: Develop and implement security architectures and frameworks to enhance network security posture.
· Incident Response: Lead the response to security incidents, including detailed forensic analysis and remediation.
· Policy Development: Create and enforce advanced security policies and procedures to protect network resources.
· Threat Intelligence: Utilize threat intelligence to proactively identify and mitigate potential security threats.
· Network Design: Collaborate with network architects to design secure network infrastructures.
· Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
· Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of firewall and IPS configurations, policies, and procedures.
· Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior security engineers and IT staff.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
· Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
· experience in network security, with a focus on advanced firewall and IPS technologies.
Skills:
· Expertise in configuring and managing enterprise-level firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Check Point, Cisco ASA).
· Advanced knowledge of IPS technologies (e.g., Snort, Suricata, Cisco Firepower).
· Strong understanding of network protocols, security principles, and threat landscapes.
· Proficiency in security incident response and forensic analysis.
· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
· Ability to lead and work effectively in a team environment.
· Strong communication and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCIE Security, GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst).
· Experience with other security technologies such as IDS, VPNs, and SIEM.
· Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and advanced security tasks.
