Job Description

  • Close collaboration with client to conduct AML/CFT assessment at customer onboarding stage.
  • Perform customer due diligence (CDD) and Know Your Customer (KYC) checks on new and existing customers to ensure fulfilment of AML regulatory requirements.
  • Perform verification on documents received from the client and to ensure client complies with regulatory and firm-wide AML guidelines.
  • Contribute to personal and overall team development staying up-to-date with AML and Sanctions related news and regulatory developments.
  • Leads and manage a team of AML and Fraud analyst, and develops their AML and Fraud knowledge to become SMEs in these areas.
  • Collaborate with analysts, operations specialists, data scientists and engineering to improve current fraud prevention mechanisms, processes and tools. 
  • Pro-actively monitoring and identifying suspicious trends and patterns, propose preventative actions and improvements to current procedures, policies, and systems.
  • Define action plans and cascade to stakeholders as required. 
  • Achieve continuous improvement to enhance the operational efficiency and effectiveness of fraud operation processes.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and regulatory changes to identify and validate future requirements and opportunities.
  • Support AML and Sanctions engagement delivery by performing engagement planning, scheduling, coordination and administration of engagements as well as ensuring execution of work as per the agreed scope of work within agreed timeline.


Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics; Finance; Business Administration; Financial Risk Management, Law or any other equivalent qualifications. 
  • Minimum 5 years experience managing scalable team size with strong background in AML and Sanctions Compliance (managing the overall AML and Sanctions framework) 
  • Sound technical knowledge of AML and Sanctions best practice and regulatory requirements
  • Strong knowledge of cyber risk and common fraud typologies, along with the emerging trends affecting fraud and financial crime
  • Candidate with CAMS / ICA or an advanced AML Certification will have an added advantage
  • Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills, technical and business writing and presentation skills as well as interpersonal skills including client servicing
