JOB PURPOSE

The Finishing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all finishing activities related to precast concrete elements, ensuring that every product meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and project specifications. This role involves managing the finishing team, providing clear guidance, assigning tasks, and monitoring progress to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to timelines. The supervisor inspects completed works, identifies defects or deviations, and implements corrective actions to maintain consistent quality across all precast elements.In addition, the Finishing Supervisor ensures the optimal use of materials, tools, and equipment, minimizing waste while maximizing productivity. The role requires collaboration with project engineers, quality teams, and other stakeholders to address technical issues, streamline processes, and improve finishing techniques. By mentoring the team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and maintaining rigorous standards of workmanship, the supervisor contributes directly to the timely delivery of durable, high-quality precast concrete products that meet client expectations.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.0 Quality Assurance & Inspection
1.1 Inspect precast elements for surface defects, uniformity, and adherence to finishing quality
standards.
1.2 Ensure all finishing work complies with approved project specifications and design
requirements.
1.3 Provide feedback and implement corrective actions when non-conformities or defects are
identified.

1.4 Conduct regular audits of finishing processes to maintain consistency and high workmanship standards.

1.5 Verify that materials, tools, and equipment used in finishing work meet required quality standards.

1.6 Collaborate with the QA/QC team to document inspection results, maintain records, and report on overall quality performance.

1.7 Monitor curing processes, surface treatments, and coatings to ensure proper application and durability.

1.8 Recommend improvements in finishing techniques or materials to enhance product quality and efficiency.

2.0 Daily Operations Monitoring

2.1 Oversee daily finishing operations, ensuring work is performed efficiently and within deadlines.

2.2 Coordinate with QA/QC, production, and site teams to align finishing schedules with overall project timelines.

2.3 Monitor and evaluate the output of the finishing crew to ensure consistent quality.

2.4 Allocate tasks and resources effectively to maximize productivity and meet project targets.

2.5 Conduct daily briefings or toolbox talks with the finishing team to communicate priorities, risks, an expectations.

2.6 Implement corrective actions or process adjustments when deviations from quality or timelines are observed.

2.8 Encourage teamwork and provide guidance to resolve operational challenges on-site.

3.0 Team Supervision & Productivity

3.1 Supervise and guide a team of finishers and laborers, assigning tasks and monitoring

 performance.
3.2 Foster a productive and disciplined work environment while ensuring optimal team 

 output.
3.3 Provide technical direction and support to team members as needed.

3.4 Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to improve skills and efficiency.

3.5 Identify training needs and mentor junior staff to enhance their technical capabilities and workmanship. 

3.6 Promote teamwork, accountability, and adherence to company policies and safety procedures.

3.7 Resolve conflicts or issues among team members promptly to maintain a harmonious work environment.

4.0 Problem Solving & Process Improvement
4.1 Identify recurring issues or inefficiencies in finishing operations.
4.2 Investigate root causes of finishing defects or delays and develop practical solutions.
4.3 Recommend improvements to processes, tools, and techniques to enhance finish quality

and reduce rework.

4.4 Collaborate with QA/QC and production teams to implement corrective actions and monitor effectiveness.

4.5 Analyze workflow and resource utilization to optimize productivity and reduce bottlenecks.

4.6 Encourage feedback from team members and stakeholders to identify potential areas for improvement.

4.7 Stay updated on industry best practices and new finishing technologies to continuously improve methods.

4.8 Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidelines for consistent, high-quality finishing work.

5.0 Material Management

5.1 Oversee the use of finishing materials such as patching compounds, sealers, and coatings.

5.2 Ensure consistent application and proper handling to prevent waste and ensure compliance with specifications.

5.3 Maintain control over material inventory and coordinate with warehouse or procurement teams required.

5.4 Inspect materials upon delivery to ensure quality and compliance with project requirements.

5.5 Keep accurate records of material usage, shortages, and reorders.

5.6 Coordinate with project managers and supervisors to ensure timely availability of materials for scheduled works.

5.7 Implement storage procedures to protect materials from damage, contamination, or environmental effects.

 

6.0 Safety & Compliance

6.1 Ensure all finishing work adheres to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.

6.2 Promote the use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe working
practices.

6.3 Report safety incidents or near misses and support investigations when necessary.

6.4 Conduct regular safety briefings and toolbox talks to raise awareness of potential hazards.

6.5 Monitor work practices to ensure compliance with site-specific safety protocols.

6.6 Identify potential risks in finishing activities and implement preventive measures.

6.7 Ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of finishing materials and chemicals.

6.8 Encourage a safety-first culture among the finishing team and enforce adherence to all company and regulatory safety standards.

7.0 Anti-Bribery Compliance
7.1 Understand, apply, and comply to anti-bribery & corruption management system and
policies.
7.2 Report any violation to anti-bribery & corruption policy through whistleblowing

8.5 Promote a culture of learning, mentoring, and skill development among finishing team members.

Review completed work and workflow regularly to identify potential enhancements in productivity and workmanship.


Job Requirements

 (a) Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, or a related field (preferred).
(b) Proven 3–5 years of experience in precast concrete finishing, construction finishing, or a
similar supervisory role.
(c) Strong understanding of finishing techniques for concrete surfaces, patching, repair, and
surface preparation.
(d) Knowledge of project specifications, architectural drawings, and finishing standards.
(e) Familiarity with health and safety regulations applicable to construction or factory environments.
