Job Description

  

Job Purpose:
The Project Engineer ensures the successful technical execution of construction projects by coordinating engineering activities, implementing design specifications, and supporting project planning. This role monitors quality, safety, and progress, resolves technical challenges, and liaises with contractors, consultants, and project teams to achieve timely and cost-effective project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Project Manager in planning, scheduling, and resource allocation for projects. 
  • Review and implement design drawings, specifications, and approved changes on-site. 
  • Conduct constructability reviews, inspections, and audits to ensure quality and compliance. 
  • Support preparation of Material Submission Approvals (MSA), Method Statements, and technical documentation. 
  • Identify potential risks, propose mitigation strategies, and maintain risk registers. 
  • Coordinate on-site activities with contractors, consultants, QA/QC, HSE, and internal teams. 
  • Supervise and guide junior engineers, site staff, and draftsmen to ensure effective execution. 
  • Maintain documentation for inspections, approvals, correspondence, and lessons learned. 
  • Monitor project milestones, performance metrics, and provide progress updates to management. 
  • Support procurement by reviewing material specifications, approvals, and delivery schedules. 
  • Serve as the technical liaison between project teams, clients, and consultants. 
  • Ensure adherence to anti-bribery policies, company standards, and regulatory requirements. 
  • Promote continuous improvement by recommending workflow optimizations, best practices, and innovative solutions. 

Job Requirements

a) Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

b) Professional certification or registration (e.g., P.Eng, PE, or equivalent) is preferred.

c) Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in construction project execution and engineering.

d) Proven experience in coordinating multidisciplinary project teams and technical activities.

e) Strong understanding of construction methods, design standards, codes, and industry best practices.

f) Hands-on experience with project planning, scheduling, and resource management tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).

g) Familiarity with quality assurance, safety standards, and regulatory compliance in construction projects.

h) Experience in reviewing and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and contracts.

i) Prior exposure to procurement processes, material approvals, and vendor evaluation is an advantage

j) Demonstrated ability to analyze risks, solve technical problems, and implement process improvements.

k) Excellent written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
