Job Description

  

To be responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of precast concrete products and production processes by conducting thorough inspections, tests and reviews throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. To play a critical part in verifying that all materials, workmanship and finished products meet approved project specifications, industry standards and safety regulations. To support continuous improvement by identifying nonconformances, recommending corrective actions, maintaining detailed documentation, and collaborating with production and design teams to uphold consistent quality standards across all operations.
 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1.0 Inspection & Quality Control

1.1 Conduct pre-pour and post-pour inspections of forms, reinforcement, casting beds, and embedded items.

1.2 Verify the placement, alignment, and integrity of rebar, inserts, and connections.

1.3 Inspect incoming raw materials (e.g., aggregates, cement, admixtures) for compliance with specifications.

1.4 Monitor concrete mix batching and pouring to ensure it aligns with approved mix designs and quality standards.

1.5 Perform in-process and final inspections of precast units before release or delivery.

 

2.0 Material & Concrete Testing

2.1 Perform standard concrete tests such as slump, temperature, unit weight, and air content.

2.2 Take concrete sample cubes/cylinders for strength testing and maintain curing logs.

2.3 Verify moisture content and material quality throughout the process.

2.4 Coordinate with the laboratory to conduct additional tests such as compressive, tensile, and flexural strength tests.

2.5 Monitor and record consistency of concrete mixes and ensure adherence to approved mix designs.

2.6 Inspect raw materials (cement, aggregates, admixtures) before batching to confirm compliance with specifications.

 

3.0 Documentation & Reporting

3.1 Maintain accurate and detailed daily inspection logs, test records, and quality reports.

3.2 Document and report nonconformances, defective products, and waste.

3.3 Input inspection and testing data into quality management databases.

3.4 Prepare and distribute quality reports and ensure documentation is audit-ready.

3.5 Maintain revision-controlled records of drawings, BBS, and technical submittals related to inspections.

3.6 Track corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) and monitor their closure.

 

4.0 Drawings & Specifications Review

4.1 Read and interpret shop drawings, technical specifications, and project plans.

4.2 Verify that products and processes align with approved documentation and regulatory standards.

4.3 Compare as-built and fabrication drawings with project specifications to ensure accuracy.

4.4 Identify discrepancies or unclear details and raise technical queries (TQs) for clarification.

4.5 Ensure all drawings used on site or in production are the latest revision and properly approved.

 

5.0 Tools, Equipment & Measurement

5.1 Use and calibrate precision measuring instruments such as calipers, tape measures, micrometers, 

 and gauges.

5.2 Ensure the accuracy of dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes.

5.3 Perform regular checks and calibration of measurement tools to maintain reliability.

5.4 Verify alignment, levels, and positioning of reinforcement, formwork, and precast elements using appropriate instruments.

5.5 Document measurement results and compare with design and specification requirements.

 

6.0 Production Process Monitoring

6.1 Monitor the entire precast production process, from mold preparation to curing and storage.

6.2 Ensure that work instructions and manufacturing processes are followed consistently.

6.3 Verify proper storage, dunnage, stacking, and labeling of precast elements.

6.4 Check reinforcement placement, embedded items, and PT duct installation for compliance with approved drawings.

6.5 Observe and document casting, vibration, finishing, and curing operations to maintain quality standards.

6.6 Identify defects or deviations during production and coordinate corrective actions with production and QA/QC teams.

7.0 Cross-functional Coordination & Communication

7.1 Coordinate with design teams, production supervisors, engineers, and logistics to resolve quality issues.

7.2 Communicate quality concerns and propose corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

7.3 Assist in quality improvement initiatives and support lean manufacturing principles.

7.4 Act as a liaison between QA/QC, production, and site teams to ensure smooth implementation of quality standards.

7.5 Attend progress meetings, inspections, and coordination sessions to provide updates on quality performance.

7.6 Facilitate training sessions and workshops on quality standards, inspection techniques, and safety procedures.

8.0 Safety & Compliance

8.1 Promote a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards.

8.2 Report unsafe practices, near misses, or hazards immediately.

8.3 Ensure all processes and products meet local, national, and international standards (e.g., ACI, ASTM, BS, or EN standards as applicable).

8.4 Participate in safety audits, inspections, and toolbox talks to reinforce safe work practices.

8.5 Verify that lifting, handling, and storage of precast elements follow approved safety procedures.

9.0 Anti-Bribery Compliance

9.1 Understand, apply and comply to anti-bribery & corruption management system and
policies.

9.2 Report any violation to anti-bribery & corruption policy through whistleblowing channels.


Job Requirements

 (a) Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, Materials Engineering, or a
related technical field.
(b) QAQC Certification (e.g., ISO 9001, ACI Certification, or equivalent) is an advantage.
(c) Minimum 2–5 years of experience in quality control/assurance, preferably in precast
concrete or construction projects.
(d) Familiarity with industry standards and codes such as ASTM, ACI, BS, EN, or local building
codes.

(e) Experience in concrete testing and material inspections.
(f) Knowledge of quality documentation procedures and regulatory compliance requirements.
