Jobs Kreate is hiring a professional and service-oriented Hostess on behalf of our client, a Japanese fine dining restaurant located in Kuala Lumpur.

The Hostess will be responsible for welcoming guests, managing reservations and seating arrangements, and ensuring that every guest receives a warm and well-organised dining experience. The successful candidate will also support the restaurant’s service operations and maintain the presentation standards expected in a fine dining environment.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and greet all guests professionally upon arrival. 
• Confirm reservations and record walk-in guests’ dining preferences. 
• Manage telephone bookings and maintain accurate reservation records. 
• Escort guests to their reserved or preferred tables and assist with seating. 
• Ensure the restaurant, tables and service team are ready before opening. 
• Maintain excellent personal grooming and uniform standards. 
• Remain attentive to guests’ requests throughout their dining experience. 
• Check on guests and assist in resolving service concerns where possible. 
• Escalate complaints or incidents to the supervisor when necessary. 
• Maintain detailed knowledge of the menu, beverages and daily specials. 
• Inform guests about available menu items and daily recommendations. 
• Keep the hostess station, menus and beverage menus clean and organised. 
• Coordinate with the kitchen, management and service teams to ensure smooth restaurant operations. 
• Assist with food and beverage service when required. 
• Ensure tables are cleared quietly and efficiently. 
• Carry food and beverage trays safely to minimise spills and breakages. 
• Prepare and complete restaurant dockets accurately. 
• Inspect the dining and service areas for cleanliness and proper setup. 
• Assist in guiding service employees on the restaurant’s hostess and guest-service standards. 
• Help coordinate dining-room activities so guests receive prompt and courteous service. 
• Follow all health, hygiene, safety and sanitation requirements. 
• Support improvements to service procedures, operational performance and workplace safety.

Job Requirements

• Presentable, well-groomed and professional. 
• Friendly, courteous and confident when communicating with guests. 
• Strong customer-service and interpersonal skills. 
• Able to manage reservations, guest seating and dining preferences accurately. 
• Attentive, organised and able to remain calm during busy service periods. 
• Able to coordinate effectively with the kitchen, service team and management. 
• Willing to assist with food and beverage service when required. 
• Able to maintain the service and presentation standards of a Japanese fine dining restaurant. 
• Previous experience as a Hostess, Guest Relations Officer or in a fine dining service role is an advantage. 
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
