Salary: RM5,000 per month
Reporting to: General Manager
Travel: Travel to store locations as required

Job Summary

We are looking for a hands-on, energetic and proactive HR Manager to independently manage the full spectrum of HR functions for a growing halal quick-service restaurant business.

This role is suitable for someone who is comfortable taking ownership of day-to-day HR matters, working closely with management and operations, and supporting the manpower needs of an expanding store network.

Candidates from different levels of experience will be considered based on their practical HR exposure, ability to work independently and readiness to take ownership of the HR function.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Manpower Planning

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment for both store-based and corporate positions.
  • Source candidates through suitable recruitment channels, referrals, walk-ins and other hiring initiatives.
  • Coordinate interviews, selection, offers and onboarding.
  • Maintain a pipeline of suitable candidates to support ongoing and future manpower requirements.
  • Work closely with management and operations to understand staffing needs across different locations.

Training & Development

  • Coordinate onboarding and training programmes for new and existing employees.
  • Support job-specific training for store employees, supervisors and managers.
  • Coordinate training related to company policies, service standards and halal requirements.
  • Identify training needs and support initiatives to improve employee capability and performance.

Employee Relations

  • Handle employee enquiries, grievances, disciplinary matters and workplace issues professionally and confidentially.
  • Provide practical HR guidance to managers and employees.
  • Support a positive and respectful working environment.
  • Assist in resolving employee-related matters fairly and in accordance with company policies and Malaysian employment requirements.

Performance Management

  • Coordinate employee performance reviews and performance discussions.
  • Support managers in setting appropriate KPIs and performance expectations.
  • Assist with performance improvement plans where required.
  • Support employee recognition and engagement initiatives.

Compensation, Benefits & Payroll

  • Oversee payroll administration and ensure employee information is maintained accurately.
  • Ensure statutory contributions and employment-related obligations, including EPF, SOCSO and EIS, are properly administered.
  • Manage employee leave, benefits and related HR administration.
  • Coordinate health insurance and other employee benefits provided by the company.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Manage day-to-day HR operations and employee documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential personnel records.
  • Ensure HR practices comply with applicable Malaysian employment laws and regulations.
  • Prepare, review and update HR policies, procedures and employment documentation when required.
  • Keep updated on relevant changes in Malaysian employment legislation and HR practices.
  • Work closely with operations and management on HR matters affecting store operations.

Halal & Operational Support

  • Support halal compliance requirements from an HR perspective.
  • Coordinate relevant employee training and maintain appropriate training records.
  • Work with relevant departments where HR documentation or employee compliance is required for halal-related processes and audits.

Culture & Employee Engagement

  • Support management in building a positive and engaging workplace culture.
  • Coordinate employee engagement, recognition and team-building initiatives.
  • Encourage effective communication between management, store teams and employees.
  • Promote professional and positive workplace behaviour across the organisation.

Job Requirements

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience managing a broad range of HR responsibilities.
  • Full-spectrum HR experience with the ability to manage day-to-day HR matters independently.
  • Energetic, proactive and willing to take ownership of the HR function.
  • Good working knowledge of Malaysian employment laws and statutory requirements, including the Employment Act 1955, EPF, SOCSO and EIS.
  • Practical experience in recruitment, employee relations, HR operations and general HR administration.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with employees at different levels.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and growing environment.
  • Willing and able to travel to store locations when required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in fast food, F&B, retail, hospitality or another multi-location operational environment is an advantage.
  • Knowledge or experience relating to halal compliance is an advantage.

Candidate Profile

We are open to candidates from different levels of seniority and will assess applicants primarily based on practical HR capability and suitability for the role.

The position may suit:

  • an HR Executive with solid full-spectrum HR experience who is ready to take on greater responsibility; or
  • a junior HR Manager who is comfortable independently managing a broad HR portfolio.

The fundamental requirements are the ability to work independently, handle full-spectrum HR responsibilities and remain energetic and hands-on in a fast-moving operational environment.
