Position Summary
The Quotation Engineer is responsible for preparing cost estimations, analysis based on engineering drawings, customer specifications, and manufacturing capabilities, price review at the procurement end of the company. The Quotation Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining profitability and technical feasibility.
Key Responsibilities
• Review and analyze RFQs, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
• Perform detailed cost estimations for sheet metal parts and assemblies, covering raw materials, manufacturing processes, labor, tooling, fixtures, and overhead, subcontracting, packaging, and transportation.
• Analyze BOMs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Prepare and issue competitive quotations and technical proposals in coordination with sales and engineering.
• Compare multiple manufacturing options (e.g., in-house vs outsourced) for customized or complex orders.
• Maintain and update pricing databases, standard templates, and cost models.
• Stay updated on market trends and pricing; possess strong familiarity with tooling and machining cost structures.
• Establish standardized quotation procedures and develop automation tools to improve efficiency.
• Interpret customer technical requirements and assess manufacturability.
• Suggest design or material alternatives to optimize cost and production feasibility.
• Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure quotations align with production capabilities.
• Ensure operations comply with all relevant regulations, safety standards, and industry certifications (e.g., ISO standards ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO14001).
• Take up any task or assignment from top management from time to time.
