Job Description

The Accounts Assistant supports the Finance team in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring smooth daily accounting operations. This role assists with financial closing activities, reconciliations, documentation, invoice processing, and reporting while working closely with the Shared Service Center (RSSC) and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Closing Support

  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
  • Prepare and maintain monthly accrual listings for review.
  • Support the review of journal entries, accruals, and provisions posted by RSSC.
  • Ensure accounting transactions are properly supported and accurately recorded.

2. Account Reconciliation

  • Assist in preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Maintain proper supporting documents for all reconciliation items.
  • Follow up on outstanding balances and reconciliation discrepancies.
  • Support bank reconciliation activities and investigate variances where required.

3. Financial Records & Documentation

  • Organize and maintain accounting documents for audit and internal reference.
  • Ensure financial records are complete, accurate, and properly filed.
  • Assist in preparing schedules and reports required by management.

4. Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Support

  • Verify supplier invoices for completeness and supporting documentation.
  • Assist in monitoring vendor balances and resolving discrepancies.
  • Ensure invoices are properly coded before submission for processing.

5. Fixed Assets & Intercompany

  • Assist in maintaining fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
  • Support intercompany reconciliation and follow up on outstanding items.

6. Reporting & Analysis

  • Assist in preparing monthly financial reports.
  • Support Budget vs Actual analysis by gathering financial data.
  • Provide administrative support for finance and controlling activities.

7. Audit & Compliance

  • Prepare documents and schedules for internal and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.
  • Maintain proper documentation to support financial transactions.

8. General Finance Support

  • Perform data entry and maintain accounting records in the ERP system.
  • Liaise with internal departments and RSSC on accounting matters.
  • Carry out other finance and administrative duties assigned by the Finance Manager.


Job Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Candidates with up to 2 years of accounting or finance experience will have an added advantage.

Technical Skills

  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP is an advantage).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Good understanding of reconciliation and bookkeeping processes.

Competencies

  • Detail-oriented with good numerical accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Willing to learn and able to work under deadlines during month-end closing.
