About the Role

The Assistant Manager for Data Engineer Support is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and monitoring data pipelines within the Group Application Data Platform.

The Assistant Manager for Data Engineer Support is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and monitoring data pipelines within the Group Application Data Platform. The role ensures operational stability, timely delivery of data refreshes, and adherence to SLAs across business units. The candidate will troubleshoot issues across staging, orchestration, data transformation, and reporting processes, while collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support, maintain, and monitor data pipelines to ensure smooth daily operations under the Group Application Data Platform.
  • Perform troubleshooting on staging, orchestration, and data transformation components to resolve operational issues.
  • Monitor Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Databricks pipelines, investigate failures, and identify root causes.
  • Implement enhancements and adjustments to existing data pipelines when required.
  • Support reporting tools such as Power BI and Alteryx; troubleshoot dataset refresh issues, data model concerns, and connectivity problems.
  • Ensure data pipeline performance is optimized for cost-effectiveness and high availability.
  • Resolve issues affecting data availability and refresh timelines for business reporting.
  • Support critical reporting cycles, including standby duties and weekend support when required.
  • Adhere to existing guidelines, standards, and best practices for data engineering processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues under tight deadlines with clear ownership and follow‑through.
  • Proactively identify impacts of process changes and ensure alignment across existing workflows.
  • Communicate effectively with management, business users, and technical peers, presenting information clearly and professionally.
  • Work independently with strong problem‑solving skills and customer‑focused delivery.
