Job Description

Air Liquide began operations in Malaysia in 1927 and is one of the pioneers of the gas industry in Malaysia. As Business Development Manager, you will be based in Senai, Johor. This role drives business growth for PAG Welding Gases across the Malaysia market. You will identify new opportunities, execute strategic marketing plans, and collaborate with Sales Managers to expand market share. Additionally, you will safeguard the existing customer base against technical and competitor threats.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

  • Collaborate with Sales Representatives to create joint account plans and prospecting strategies aligned with sales objectives.

  • Lead prospection initiatives to identify, qualify, and prioritize new business opportunities within the market.

  • Develop strong connections at both business and technical levels within prospect and existing customer organizations.

  • Propose tailored technical solutions to address customer challenges and organize on-site demonstrations or tests.

  • Manage the full cycle of technical trials, including proposal writing, start-up, customer training, and performance reporting.

  • Assist in drafting offers, reviewing contracts, and supporting negotiations based on budgetary and safety constraints.

  • Conduct SWOT analyses to monitor competitor activities and protect the customer portfolio against market threats.

  • Act as a technical mentor to the Sales team, sharing application knowledge and best practices to boost performance.

  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events to enhance market presence.

  • Maintain accurate dashboards, opportunity lists, and reference lists to track market progress and innovations.

Are you a MATCH?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any Engineering or Business with a strong technical aptitude.

  • Minimum 5–7 years of proven experience in sales or business development within the Industrial sector.

  • Deep knowledge of industrial processes, welding gas applications, and internal/external HSE regulations.

  • Strong project management skills with the capability to build economic business cases.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, capable of presenting ideas clearly and succinctly.

  • Highly accountable and reliable team player who actively shares ideas and experiences with the group.

  • Willingness to travel to other states when necessary for customer visits, presentations, and business support.
