Job Description

AL Maritime is a business unit within GM&T (Global Markets & Technologies). The activity is articulated around four main businesses: Global Helium, Global Rare Gases, Offshore Energies and Maritime Cryogenic Supply. It is a very international environment, managing multiple locations worldwide. 


As part of AL Maritime, Cryogenic Tank Services (CTS) is a Malaysian entity which was acquired in 2015. CTS specializes in cryogenic tank and equipment rental for the offshore and maritime industries as well as in cryogenic transport of molecules, and provides a full range of repair and testing services. 

The purpose of the Process Engineer is to ensure that all process related designs meets the required function, fit and purpose. The Process Engineer shall deliver designs to the required quality while bringing value to the company by optimizing designs and reducing overall costs. The Process Engineer works closely within the tendering and project teams to ensure the best outcome for the company is achieved and reports to the Project Manager or Tender Manager, however functionally reports to the Lead Process Engineer.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

  • Demonstrate leadership in process and operational safety at all times. 

  • Review and understand various technical information from the client.

  • Prepare designs and documents such as; process datasheets, P&ID development, line sizing, blowdown calculations, PSV calculations. 

  • Review vendor designs including; PSV and control valve sizing, thermal calculations.

  • Perform simulations under the guidance of the Lead Process engineer

  • Develop deep understanding of membrane systems, membrane performance and take responsibility to select and optimize the type of system and membrane to be utilized.

  • Review and clarification of related vendor supplied technical documentation

  • Conduct site visits at fabricator’s facilities to perform P&ID checks and FATs.

  • Support Sales activities as needed..

  • Support commissioning activities either onshore or offshore as required.

  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instructions, and safety rules

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Process/Chemical Engineering

  • +5 years’ work experience as a Process Engineer

Preferred Qualifications

  • BOSIET and related certification for offshore work

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

  • Enthusiastic with a very strong work ethic

  • Proactive in problem solving

  • Confident communicator with strong command of written and verbal English

  • Organized and capable to prioritize

  • Ability to interact professionally with business contacts both inside and outside of the company

  • Simulation software such as HYSYS

  • Strong technical writing skills
