Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and guidance in terms of infra across Engineering teams.
- Actively collaborates with other functional areas to design and build solutions.
- Establish and enforce software engineering and Cloud best practices in the space of Quality Delivery & CI/CD.
- Coach teams to understand and implement core DevOps and Agile values
- Actively works to recruit strong engineers for the company.
- Identify and align business goals to infrastructure architecture drivers and roadmaps
- Architect fault-tolerant, high-availability, and Disaster Recovery solutions for 24x7 system uptime.
- Define and develop deployment strategies for applications.
- Define and enforce backup / recovery strategies to ensure system recoverability.
- Manage the strategic relationship with vendors/partners.
- Evangelize and drive Agile and DevOps adoption across teams..
Qualifications
- 10-15 yrs of DevOps/infrastructure engineering experience.
- Experience in leading teams and driving transformation.
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum Methodologies.
- Comfortable with reviewing code as well as writing programs needed in fully-automated devops environments, as necessary .
- Experience building high performing teams in engineering .
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Comfortable adapting to change.
- Demonstrated command of DevOps/Operations and technical processes, artifacts and tools.
- Experience with continuous builds & deployments as well as continuous integration, log collection and analysis, and performance monitoring/tuning, and security.
- Ability to define and articulate big-picture goals and milestones while maintaining strong attention to detail to all audiences
- Experience supporting container-based orchestration and deployment systems such as Docker, Kubernetes, Mesos/Marathon
- Working knowledge of several configuration management systems (e.g.: Chef, Ansible, Puppet, etc.) and several monitoring tools and frameworks (e.g.: Splunk, ELK, Nagios, etc.)
- Solid foundation in Linux / Unix
- Prior work in high load and high-traffic infrastructure
- Experience with Agile development, test automation infra, techniques and methodologies and with CI/CD
- Expert in designing, building and managing large scale infrastructure in cloud.
