Job Description
Group ICT - Data comes under AirAsia Aviation which is responsible for spearheading digital transformation across AirAsia. Group ICT - Data works on business and operations problems across all entities in the AirAsia Group. Key problems we solve include improving revenue and reducing costs through large-scale data federation, predictive and prescriptive analytics, state-of-the-art machine/deep learning, intelligent scheduling and optimization, and other advanced techniques. We are also responsible for the data lakes across all our businesses, deriving insights and value from them and sharing them back with the businesses. In addition, Group Data also actively participates in innovation and training in the Outclass as well as collaboration with strategic partners like Google, GE, Airbus, and academia.
What You’ll Do:
Partner with business and project leaders to deeply understand their goals, define critical metrics and KPIs, and deliver insights that drive action.
Analyze complex datasets to uncover trends, performance drivers, and opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity.
Translate business needs into clear documentation, requirements, and testing plans that support data-driven initiatives.
Build and maintain interactive dashboards and visualizations using Looker Studio, Tableau, or similar BI tools to empower self-service analytics and data storytelling.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Business, and Analytics to resolve data issues and support transformation projects.
Manage external technical communication with partners and vendors.
Keep up with current technical and industry developments.
Contribute to our AI innovation journey by experimenting with prompt tuning and optimising for Gemini-based applications.
Who You Are:
BS/MS/PhD in Business, IT, Mathematics, Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Up to 12 years of relevant experience beyond your first degree.
Skilled at translating complex analyses into simple, business-friendly language.
Strong hands-on experience with SQL and a solid understanding of statistics.
Proficient in data visualization tools such as Looker Studio, Tableau, or similar platforms.
Open to using design thinking methods to frame problems and solutions.
Comfortable working under pressure, navigating change, and balancing speed with reliability and interpretability.
Familiarity with prompt tuning for generative AI applications (e.g., Gemini)
