YOUR ROLE AS A: Senior Software Engineer

AirAsia Next is a technology centre that designs and builds custom solutions for the group’s airline and digital businesses. As part of our global digital transformation, our teams in KL collaborate to enhance core digital platforms—including web and mobile—while delivering new innovations such as AI-powered experiences for a seamless customer journey. 

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable full stack applications across web platforms (frontend and backend)

• Experienced in building web messaging platform

• Take ownership of features end-to-end—from concept, design, development, testing, to deployment and monitoring

• Build intuitive, performant user interfaces using modern frontend technologies

• Develop robust backend services, APIs, and integrations to support business needs

• Collaborate closely with Product, UX, and other engineering teams to deliver seamless user experiences

• Integrate internal systems with third-party services and APIs

• Review, maintain, and improve existing applications to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance

• Troubleshoot, triage, and resolve production issues in a timely manner

• Contribute to engineering best practices, including code quality, testing, and CI/CD

• Continuously improve system performance, reliability, and developer experience

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of experience in full stack web development

• Strong proficiency in JS, React, GoLang, and/or C#

• Solid experience with frontend development (React, state management, performance optimization, responsive design)

• Strong backend development experience using JS or similar technologies

• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and distributed systems

• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving

• Familiarity with Git, version control, and release management

• Experience with unit testing and test automation

• Strong understanding of software development best practices and SDLC

• Experience working with large-scale production systems, including monitoring and high availability

• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams across multiple domains

• Strong communication and analytical skills

Preferred Requirements

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Knowledge of microservices architecture

• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

• Prior experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
