THE OPPORTUNITY
Our partner, an Australian underwriting company with over 30 years of experience in specialized protection for residential investment properties, is seeking a Broker Support Officer to join their team in Kuala Lumpur. As a Broker Support Officer, your primary responsibility will be to provide end-to-end support to brokers, ensuring superior service and assisting with the management of insurance portfolios. This role is crucial in maintaining seamless communication and delivering efficient, professional solutions to brokers and clients alike.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal staff and external broker partners to provide exceptional customer service.
- Oversee new broker onboarding and offboarding requirements, ensuring timely and accurate system connections.
- Maintain the policy system, CRM, and SharePoint folders, ensuring updated broker and account activity records.
- Coordinate marketing activities and support the broker distribution team by generating quarterly reports and ad-hoc analyses.
- Manage the broker support mailbox, responding to inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with internal teams for technical and operational support, actively participating in projects as required.
- Identify and escalate potential risks to the business, ensuring compliance and quality.
- Handle general administrative tasks, including coordinating partner gifts and providing ongoing support to the broker distribution team.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION
- General understanding of the intermediated insurance industry, with familiarity in broker and underwriting principles, insurance legislation, and market trends (preferred).
- Completion of ASIC RG146 (Tier 2) is desirable.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Strong administrative skills, including proficiency in MS Office.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to manage conflicts and complaints effectively.
- High-level time management skills to meet deadlines and manage priorities.
