Job Description

The individual, together with the development team is tasked with building an ecommerce platform to drive the group’s digital business in a multi-year multi-phased effort. The ecommerce platform is not limited to an online store or mall and will include SCM, WMS, IMS, fulfillment, CRM, Marketing and other business supporting systems. The development will include 3rd party integrations such as payment, logistic, marketing channels etc.

Job Requirements

Expectations & Qualifications:

As a software engineer you are expected to champion software that is fast, simple yet solid and stable with emphasis on security, scalability, extensibility and usability.
This position will require you to have a thorough understanding of ecommerce and logistics solutions
You will be expected to demonstrate delivery of new ideas and innovative/out of the box thinking while helping to drive solutions for complex design challenges and implementation best practices.
You will be responsible for tuning and optimizing performance (L&P) as well as uncompromised code quality control

Basic qualifications:

Relevant formal education: Computer science/ Information system or a similar degree
5-8 years’ experience in software development, preferably Internet and/or ecommerce related
Knowledge of OO and functional programming principles, techniques & design patterns
Excellent understanding of code quality, unit testing, and continuous integration

Applicant must be:

o Experienced in translating requirements to working software

o Highly motivated to drive changes and learn new skills

o Open minded, quick learner, creative, innovative

o Team player, but also capable to work on his own

o Proactive and effective communicator

Advantages:

3-4 Years of PHP Experience
Development experience for Magento 2.0 Enterprise edition
Experience in developing REST APIs
Mobile Android/iOS development background
Experience with Agile - Scrum framework, TDD and GIT
Experience with JavaScript frameworks (ideally React, AngularJS or Backbone)
Enjoys working in fast, dynamic startup environment

Important to Note:

This is a full-time position based in First Avenue, Bandar Utama, Malaysia. You’ll be reporting to AVP, Software Engineering who’s based in Singapore. Official working hour is from Monday to Friday at 8:30 to 5:30 with possibility to arrange for flexible arrangement with your manager.
