Cross-Channel Media Strategy: Develop and implement media strategies that leverage Astro’s ecosystem across TV, radio, and digital.
Client Consultation: Educate clients on the unique benefits of TV and radio in driving digital performance.
Innovation and Product Development: Work closely with Digital, IT, Content and various product and innovation teams to inform the innovation roadmap based on client needs and market trends, to address the demands of a digital-first market.
Measurement and Accountability: Develop measurement frameworks to ensure campaigns are outcome-driven and work with internal sales team to enable/ improves the ability to track success metrics and hold teams accountable.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Partner with sales teams to educate clients on how data can enhance campaign decision-making.
Thought Leadership: Serve as a thought leader, helping clients navigate the evolving media landscape by leading strategic conversations on media and communication planning with strong understanding of cross channel media strategy.
Strategic Partner: Provide media planning recommendations and driving best practice to ensure our sales team able to propose the best media plan to our clients.
Market Analysis and Trend Evaluation: Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activities.
Collaboration and Team Leadership: Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Astro Media Solutions and Astro Group.
Product Champion: Champion addressable TV as a key revenue source for AMS by driving strategic product decisions through the evaluation of market-trends, customer data and prospective analysis of the business’s product and revenue performance.
Performance Analysis and ROI Measurement: Utilize analytics tools to understand performance and measure ROI.
Continuous Learning and Adaptation: Stay up-to-date with the latest digital marketing tools and trends. Develop new tech and data enable products which can be deployed in-market opening up new revenue streams / opportunities through the use of ’smart’ data.
Coaching: Coach and support sales Team on media strategy; presentation development; prospecting; building working relationships in the ad buying community; using integrated concepts to develop marketing programs; and delivering compelling presentations.
Inventory Optimisation: Provide strategic advise that can guide the management and optimisation of the company’s TV inventory.
Skills and Capability Upskilling: Together with HR, review the capability and skills of the salesforce on competencies and pivoting quickly to ensure we have the right people, with the right skills to engage with clients on new advertising strategies and products
Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on revenue, commission performance, market share analytics, and automated tracking systems.
Bachelor’s degree/Master in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Media Strategist or similar role in the advertising/media/marketing field with at least 8 years of experience.
Proven experience in media strategy, with a strong background in working across a variety of product and service categories, and exposure to both traditional and digital media environments.
Deep understanding of how to market to diverse audience segments and optimize campaigns for different segments, leveraging cross-channel media planning (particularly the role of TV in multi-channel strategies).
Ability to build trusted relationships with clients and offer consultative, strategic guidance complemented by the ability to explain complex media strategies in simple terms.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
Experience with automation tools and dashboarding solutions.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices.
Familiarity with Kantar, CRM, ERP systems, and automation tools.
Fluency in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and/or other languages is an added advantage.
