Job Description

About the Role

We are looking for a well-experienced and dynamic professional to join our import operations team as a Import Customer Service Executive (Air & Sea Freight).

This position plays a key role in managing the complete import process — from pre-alert to final delivery — while ensuring full compliance with customs regulations and delivering top-tier service to customers. The successful candidate will also help develop SOPs and groom the operations team to achieve higher efficiency and service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle end-to-end import operations for both air and sea shipments, including pre-alerts, clearance coordination, and final delivery.
  • Prepare and verify import documentation, ensuring compliance with Malaysian customs and company requirements.
  • Coordinate closely with customers, airlines, shipping lines, overseas agents, and customs brokers for smooth cargo flow.
  • Monitor shipment status and proactively communicate updates to clients.
  • Manage billing, cost control, and file closing accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for import processes.
  • Train and mentor junior staff to strengthen their understanding of import operations and customer service.
  • Ensure compliance with trade regulations, safety standards, and company policies

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in freight forwarding / logistics, specializing in import operations (air & sea).
  • Strong knowledge of customs procedures, import documentation, and port/airport processes.
  • Experience in SOP creation, process improvement, and staff training preferred.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills; customer-focused and detail-oriented.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with freight management systems (e.g., Freightlab SAP, or equivalent).
  • Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin proficiency is an advantage.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and able to handle high-volume transactions independently.
