Job Description
- Engage with clients to understand project objectives, functional requirements, design preferences, and budget considerations
- Provide professional consultation and expert advice on design concepts, space planning, materials, finishes, and furnishings
- Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and perform accurate site measurements
- Develop comprehensive design concepts, including layout plans, mood boards, and presentation materials
- Prepare detailed drawings and specifications to support design execution
- Plan and optimize space utilization to achieve both functional efficiency and aesthetic quality
- Source and specify materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, and accessories in line with project requirements
- Coordinate and liaise with clients, suppliers, and relevant stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
- Oversee project execution from initial concept through to completion, ensuring alignment with design intent
- Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure timely and cost-effective completion
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to design specifications
- Supervise installation, styling, and final handover of completed projects
- Ensure all designs and implementations comply with applicable safety standards, codes, and regulations
- Stay abreast of industry trends, innovations, and best practices in interior design
Job Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or related field
- Proven experience in interior design (residential and/or commercial projects)
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3ds Max, or similar
- Ability to prepare layout plans, drawings, and 3D visualizations
- Strong design sense with good space planning and material selection skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for client meetings and presentations
- Ability to understand client requirements and provide practical design solutions
- Experience in conducting site visits and taking accurate measurements
- Knowledge of construction details, materials, and finishing works
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Strong coordination skills when working with contractors and suppliers
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Willingness to travel for site visits when required
