Love great coffee and honest food? Working with us at BENGBENG SOURDOUGH BAKERY means you will be part of a small, friendly team serving fresh sourdough, sandwiches and crafted beverages to our neighbourhood customers.

As a builder on the floor you will support the Senior Barista, prepare and serve coffee and beverages to our standards, and assemble sandwiches and toasties at the sandwich station. You will also assist with basic baking prep and ingredient mixing, handle opening and closing tasks, restock supplies, keep your station clean, and deliver friendly, timely service.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities

Floor service & customer care

• You will support the Senior Barista at BENGBENG SOURDOUGH BAKERY by preparing and serving coffee and crafted beverages to our quality standards.
• You will welcome customers, take orders, handle queries, and deliver friendly, timely service to regulars and new visitors.

Food & beverage prep

• You will assemble sandwiches and toasties to recipe, ensuring consistent portioning and presentation.
• You will assist with basic baking prep and ingredient mixing, following SOPs and guidance from senior staff.

Shift operations & cleanliness

• You will run opening and closing routines, restock supplies, and keep your station clean and organised.
• You will follow food safety and hygiene practices and help maintain stock levels for smooth service.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum SPM or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in F&B, cafes, or beverage preparation is an advantage; training will be provided.
• Able to work weekends, public holidays, and rotating shifts.
• Basic English and Bahasa Malaysia communication skills; additional languages are an advantage.

Hard Skills & Knowledge

• Basic barista or beverage preparation skills, or a willingness to learn practical techniques.
• Experience or comfort with simple food assembly, portioning, and following standard recipes or SOPs.
• Basic cash handling or POS familiarity is helpful, and a clear understanding of safe food handling and hygiene is required.

• Positive attitude, friendly and approachable, with a customer-first mindset.
• Able to work efficiently in a busy environment and communicate well with teammates.
• Responsible, punctual, and maintains good personal hygiene.
