Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Social Media Management

  • Support the development and execution of social media strategies to ensure alignment with BookXcess’ brand identity and business objectives.
  • Own and manage social media content calendars to ensure consistent, timely, and on-brand publishing.
  • Create, curate, and manage content across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Threads, and Xiaohongshu
  • Monitor social media trends, audience behaviour, and competitor activity to optimise content and engagement.
  • Interact with followers, respond to comments and inquiries, and contribute to building a strong online community.
  • Manage and moderate BookXcess’ online book community, fostering positive conversations and engagement
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to promote new book releases, store openings, and special promotions.
  • Support the planning, execution, and optimisation of paid and organic social media campaigns, including promotions, contests, and influencer collaborations.
  • Support the sourcing, coordination, and execution of influencer marketing initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members in executing social media initiatives
  • Work closely with marketing, PR, sales, and design teams to ensure brand voice consistency and cohesive messaging
  • Track and analyse social media performance, preparing monthly reports with actionable insights to stakeholders

Collaboration & Brand Building

  • Work closely with the marketing and merchandising teams to align campaigns with business objectives.
  • Build relationships with influencers, bloggers, and media to increase brand visibility.
  • Support partnerships with schools, libraries, and community groups to promote reading culture.

Job Requirements

 Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in social media management or marketing, preferably within retail or lifestyle industries.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, content creation, and engagement strategies.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Experience with social media analytics and content management tools.
  • Creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with diverse audiences.
  • Passion for books, literature, and fostering a reading community is a plus.
  • Proficient in reading and writing Chinese, required for managing Chinese-language social media platforms (e.g. Xiaohongshu)
