Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market and position bookstore spaces as ideal event venues to potential clients and partners.
  • Plan, organize, and execute engaging in-store and off-site events including book launches, author signings, reading sessions, creative workshops, and community initiatives.
  • Coordinate end-to-end logistics for events, including budgeting, scheduling, venue setup, vendor and partner coordination, and staff arrangements.
  • Work closely with authors, publishers, internal teams, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Support the development of promotional materials and collaborate with the marketing team to ensure effective event marketing and outreach.
  • Ensure smooth on-ground execution of events with a strong focus on customer experience, crowd management, and troubleshooting.
  • Track, measure, and evaluate event performance, prepare post-event reports, and identify opportunities for future improvement.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, libraries, community groups, NGOs, and strategic partners to expand BookXcess’ reach and impact.
  • Align event plans with marketing campaigns and business objectives through close collaboration with relevant departments.
  • Support any other ad hoc tasks or initiatives assigned by the Head of Marketing to ensure the overall success of marketing efforts.

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Skills: 

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in event planning, brand activation, or marketing (preferably in retail, lifestyle, or creative industries). 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Event Management, Communications, or a related field. 
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to multitask and manage tight timelines. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset. 
  • Creative, resourceful, and detail-oriented with a passion for delivering engaging experiences. 
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams. 
  • A passion for books, literacy, and community engagement is a strong advantage.
