Job Summary
The Accounts Manager is responsible for overseeing the accounting department's daily operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective financial management. This role supervises accounting staff, manages financial records, prepares reports, and supports strategic financial planning to ensure the organization’s financial health.
Financial Management
- Oversee and manage the full spectrum of accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Monitor cash flow, budgets, and financial forecasts.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
- Prepare tax filings, statutory reports, and regulatory submissions.
- Maintain proper accounting documentation and records.
Team Leadership
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff.
- Assign tasks, review work, and ensure deadlines are met.
- Improve team efficiency and maintain high accounting standards.
Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor departmental budgets and identify variances.
- Provide financial analysis to support business decisions.
Process Improvement
- Review and improve accounting procedures and internal controls.
- Implement accounting systems or automation to improve efficiency.
- Identify risks and recommend corrective actions.
