What You'll Do

The Asia Pacific Client Team is a commercial team that supports the region's MDPs and senior leadership to grow our business and manage commercial risk. Our team includes 4 Commercial Directors, and two core team members (including this role) and is managed by the Asia Pacific Client Team Senior Director.

Our Commercial Directors provide thought partnering to MDP teams for complex commercial opportunities (e.g. value-based pricing (VBP) arrangements) as well as commercial best practice training and resources.

Our core team manages a number of important business processes and initiatives, including:

  • Providing support to our CCOs (Client Coordinating Officers), for our priority clients, with best practices, resources and running peer-to-peer learning initiatives
  • Supporting our MDPs to build strong commercial acumen, with best practice materials and communications
  • Managing an investment fund for the region. We help MDPs understand what investments might be available for them in their client situations (e.g. to strategically invest in price to win large competitive proposals, or to break-in to new clients). We support them through application process, and make decisions on approval of investment requests, in coordination with finance, local systems and global teams. We track approved investments for usage and measure and analyse return on investment.
  • Providing support to our Commercial Directors including VBP portfolio review
  • Conducting strategic commercial analysis for the region, including our AP client portfolio, profitability and growth
  • Supporting our global functional leaders to roll out commercial initiatives in AP

In addition to working closely with the AP Client Team Chair, we also partner with colleagues from other regions, the Global Client Team, finance, legal and risk functions and regional and system leadership. As a result, members of the team receive significant exposure to the overall business and develop networks and working relationships across the organization. As a Client Team Analyst, you will work collaboratively within the team and across the organization to support our local colleagues, regional leadership, and other stakeholders. This may include:

  • Supporting the investment desk approval and syndication process, including tracking and analysis of data and outcomes to support leadership
  • Interfacing with MDPs and leadership, aligning across geographies and practice areas, while providing relevant client detail to make decisions
  • Participating in the creation and development of high quality, impactful analysis and providing input into global investment reports
  • Teaming with local finance and taking responsibility for data quality
  • Supporting ad hoc AP CCO database analysis and/or updates
  • Supporting mid-year and year-end review calls with CCOs for large investments
  • Seeking process improvements in investment and CCO governance procedures
  • As needed, supporting both the AP Client Team Senior Director and Senior Manager with Client Team initiatives (such as MDP workshops/communications, updating microsite, Supporting internal podcasts, etc.)
  • Triaging inbound client requests for support that come through our bcg.com channel
  • Contributing to ad hoc special projects and regional analysis that are at the forefront of AP's commercial priorities
  • Identifying ways, we can innovate and make our internal processes more efficient and productive

As business needs change, over time this position will work on a variety of interesting projects, providing the analyst with a wide range of professional growth opportunities. 



What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business or related field; MBA preferred.
  • BCG experience is highly valued
  • 4-7 years of experience in consulting, finance or professional services firms.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working effectively in an international environment.
  • Strong business data analysis and project management experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint and Excel). Experience with Business Objects/SAP systems not essential but highly valued
  • Fluency in English (written and verbal).
