We are seeking a highly disciplined and experienced Account & Tax Manager to lead our Malaysia accounting, tax compliance, and client portfolio management functions within a fast-paced outsourcing environment. You will be responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of accounting operations and ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting for a portfolio of corporate clients. This role requires a proactive and independent professional who can manage multiple stakeholders while ensuring alignment with regional reporting standards and providing operational support to the Singapore HQ where required.
Manage the full set of accounts for a portfolio of Malaysian SMEs and international clients across various industries.
Review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with MFRS and statutory requirements.
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing processes for all assigned entities.
Prepare and review corporate tax computations, SST filings, withholding tax matters, and annual tax submissions.
Coordinate with LHDN and relevant authorities on tax compliance and regulatory matters.
Provide basic cross-border tax coordination and operational support for Singapore-related reporting requirements when necessary.
Monitor tax deadlines and ensure accurate submissions with zero penalties or compliance breaches.
Ensure compliance with SSM, LHDN, EPF, SOCSO, EIS, and other Malaysian statutory requirements.
Coordinate with auditors, company secretaries, and external stakeholders during annual audit and filing exercises.
Maintain accurate statutory records and support clients with corporate governance and compliance matters.
Stay updated on Malaysian accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance developments.
Act as the primary point of contact for clients on accounting, tax, and operational matters.
Collaborate with internal payroll, corporate secretarial, and advisory teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
Provide guidance, mentoring, and technical support to junior accountants and executives.
Prepare management reports, operational updates, and KPI dashboards for senior management and regional stakeholders.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
Professional Certification: ACCA, CPA Australia, MICPA, CAANZ, or equivalent preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years of accounting and tax experience within an accounting firm, outsourcing provider, or corporate services environment.
Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), LHDN regulations, SST, payroll compliance, and statutory reporting requirements.
Independence: Proven ability to manage multiple client portfolios autonomously with minimal supervision.
Precision: Strong attention to detail with a high standard of accuracy in financial and tax reporting.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills to support both local and regional stakeholders.
Client Management: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
Adaptability: Comfortable operating in a fast-paced outsourcing environment while managing multiple deadlines and regional coordination requirements.
