Job Description
You own a pod: a small team of performance marketers responsible for a portfolio of client accounts end to end. Strategy, execution, client relationship, commercial outcome.
You lead accounts directly and stay hands-on in the platform. The difference from a senior specialist role is that you also raise the standard of everyone else's accounts in the pod, and you are answerable for those too.
Two things make this different from a standard team lead role:
- You are measured on the pod's results, not just your own accounts. You lead your own portfolio and you are equally accountable for what your pod members deliver on theirs. That means coaching them, reviewing their work before it reaches the client, and stepping in on their accounts when the situation calls for it.
- You work AI-native, not AI-curious. We are rebuilding this agency around AI-augmented workflows: reporting, insight extraction, deck production, campaign QA, creative ideation. You work inside that system, improve it, and teach it to your pod. Hard requirement.
What You Own
Platform and campaign craft
- Structure and optimise Meta accounts under current delivery logic: Advantage+, broad targeting, consolidation, and the signal quality that drives them
- Make the call on where manual control still earns its keep and where fighting the algorithm is destroying performance
- Manage budget allocation, pacing, bid strategy, and scaling decisions across accounts at very different spend levels
- Own the data foundation: pixel and CAPI integrity, event quality, conversion API setup, and attribution windows
- Run structured testing: incrementality, holdouts, geo splits, and clean creative tests that produce a decision rather than noise
- Diagnose declining accounts to root cause. Separate creative fatigue from audience saturation from tracking breakage from a landing page problem.
- Keep current with Meta's platform direction and translate what actually changes for our clients, not what the announcement says
Creative-led strategy
- Treat creative as the primary lever. You set the creative thesis for the account before you touch the campaign structure.
- Drive persona expansion, format expansion, and messaging expansion so accounts do not saturate on a single angle
- Write and direct briefs that a designer or editor can execute without a second conversation
- Read creative performance properly: hook rate, hold rate, thumbstop, CTR, frequency, and what each one tells you about which part of the ad is failing
- Set refresh cadence to spend level and audience size, and enforce it
- Build an angle bank per client so the pod is never starting from zero
Funnel, CRO, and positioning
- Own the full path from ad to conversion, not just the ad. Where the funnel leaks is your problem.
- Audit and improve landing pages: message match, above-the-fold clarity, offer structure, form friction, load speed, mobile experience
- Run structured landing page and offer tests, and read them honestly at the sample sizes we actually have
- For lead gen, own lead quality and the handover into the client's sales process, not just cost per lead
- Sharpen product positioning and messaging with clients: the core promise, the objection stack, the proof, the differentiation. Weak positioning cannot be fixed with better targeting.
- Diagnose the commercial constraint: whether the account is limited by creative, offer, pricing, funnel, or the market itself
Pod leadership
- Lead 2 to 4 performance marketers across a defined client portfolio
- Coach pod members into running their own client relationships, including QBRs and difficult performance conversations
- Act as the quality gate on everything that reaches a client
- Run weekly pod rhythms: account reviews, creative reviews, prioritisation
- Close capability gaps through coaching, documentation, or escalation
Portfolio strategy and client ownership
- Own the growth thesis per account: current state, constraint, next unlock, next two quarters
- Align every account against the right commercial metric: MER, CAC, ROAS, LTV, CPL, or lead quality depending on the client model
- Lead your own accounts directly and act as senior relationship owner across the pod
- Present for escalations, strategic pivots, and renewal moments on every account in the pod
- Handle the conversations that carry weight: performance recovery, scope changes, expectation resets
- Ensure reporting is credible and matched to client tier
- Surface expansion opportunities with a case, not a hunch
AI-native operating
- Use Claude or ChatGPT as a daily working environment, not an occasional lookup
- Build AI-assisted workflows for reporting, insight extraction, deck generation, and campaign QA
- Write structured prompts and context documents others can reuse
- Progress toward agentic tooling: connected data sources, MCP workflows, Claude Code. Not required day one, but you must be someone who gets there.
- Apply judgement over AI output. Anything that reaches a client carries your name.
Job Requirements
We are looking for high agency. Concretely:
- You move without being asked. Drifting account? You have already diagnosed it and drafted the fix.
- Escalations arrive as "here is the situation, two options, my recommendation."
- You build the workflow or template that does not exist yet rather than waiting for one.
- You are comfortable being the most senior person in a client room and making the call live.
- You own your pod's misses and hand the team the wins.
If you need clear instructions to move, this role will not work for you.
Requirements
Must have
- 4 to 6 years performance marketing, agency side preferred
- Experience leading or mentoring marketers, formally or informally
- Deep hands-on Meta Ads expertise including Advantage+, broad targeting, consolidated structures, and creative-led scaling
- Working competence in Google Ads: Search, PMax, Demand Gen
- Strong creative strategy: you can look at an account and say why the creative is failing and what specifically to make next
- Technical fluency in tracking and measurement: pixel, CAPI, event quality, attribution windows, and where the data lies to you
- Real CRO capability. You have improved conversion rates through landing page and offer work, not only through media buying.
- Ability to work on positioning and messaging with a client, not just execute what they hand you
- Senior client ownership including difficult performance conversations
- Daily AI tool use in your current work, with examples you can walk us through
- Excellent English; Bahasa Malaysia preferred
Strong advantage
- Multiple client models: large-brand lead gen, B2B, SMB, e-commerce
- High-spend or multi-stakeholder corporate accounts
- GA4, Looker Studio, Shopify, TikTok Ads, DV360
- Direct response copywriting capability
- Automation or scripting: Python, Apps Script, Make, n8n, Claude Code
- Built internal systems or SOPs that others adopted
Assessment
Live account diagnosis, a client scenario conversation, and a practical exercise using AI tooling in front of us. We test judgement and working method, not tool trivia.
Still open: no compensation band, reporting line, or progression path. Worth one line on what sits above Pod Lead.
