Job Description

Job Purpose and Impact

The Shipment Execution Supervisor will lead and provide direction to local transportation and logistic teams, oversee the day to day transportation and logistics operational activities across a region that includes multiple product lines. In this role, you will lead, advise and make decisions on all major logistics and transportation activities including data management, reporting and analysis, shipment execution, client interaction, business partnership, people, resource and project management.

Key Accountabilities

    • Oversee and ensure timely execution of import, export, and Free Zone shipments
    • Ensure full compliance with Malaysian customs regulations and Free Zone procedures
    • Collaborate with Procurement, Planning, Sales, and Finance to align logistics execution with business needs
    • Supervise and develop a team of Shipment Execution Team, logistics coordinators, providing coaching and performance feedback
    • Analyze logistics data and prepare performance reports with actionable insights
    • Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Manage relationships with freight forwarders, transporters, and warehouse service providers
    • Resolve transport-related incidents and ensure service level adherence
    • Assist and support operational activities for the transportation and logistics team such as spot sourcing, capacity location, freight booking, delivery tracking and transport related incident resolution.
    • Gather, synthesize and analyze data and prepare reports and presentations to communicate transportation performance and metrics and drive continuous improvement.
    • Maintain an excellent level of market awareness across the region where business units operate and lead the communication towards our partners.
    • Lead continuous improvement projects and participate in cross functional and cross regional projects.
    • Responsible for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance and disciplinary actions for your direct reports. You will also spend time completing the same tasks as employees on your team.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience in commercial transportation (Haulage, Road Tanker & Trucking), 3rd Party Logistics KPI, forwarding and bulk cargo transportation
  • Minimum requirement of 5 years relevant work experience. Typically reflects 3 years or more of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Good presentations skills
  • CI Certification
  • Familiarity with Incoterms and international shipping practices
