Job Description

Responsible for ensuring continuous utilities supply and efficient operation of systems such as boilers, cooling plant, compressed air, water and wastewater treatment, and electrical facilities. Supports maintenance, daily KPI monitoring, and excellence activities to ensure smooth production operations.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for the maintenance and operation of Utilities, Facilities and Workshop. Areas covered are:

• High Temperature Water and boiler system including steam generation.
• Cooling system i.e. ammonia and glycol.
• Compressed air system.
• Cold water supply.
• Water treatment plant.
• Carbon dioxide (CO2) plant.
• Wastewater treatment plant.
• Electrical Supply.
• Fire Fighting System, Telephone and Air Conditioning System.
• Daily Functions
• Boiler make up water consumption recording / monitoring.
• Natural Gas consumption meter reading.
• Boilers and circulation pumps running hour meter reading.
• Ammonia (NH3) compressors, NH3 condensers. CO2 compressors, cooling compressors (CO2 plant) data records.
• Record CO2 production and consumption figures.
• Water Treatment plant data recording & operation.
• Wastewater Treatment analysis / operation.
• Order/prepare necessary spare parts for machinery during maintenance.
• Prepare work order and complete work order through SAP system.
• To carry out preventive maintenance as per plan (PM02).
• To make any adjustment / changes to improve operability of utility plant.
• Excellence activities (5S/Kaizen etc) related to Utilities / Facilities as part of daily routine function.

Others

• Machinery duty change over on master control, reset timer and etc.
• Regeneration, backwash of filters.
• Combustion efficiency measurement and adjustment for all the boilers.
• To carry out NH3 oil draining.
• To carry out safety test for boilers, pressure tanks and steam generator.
• Change nitrogen cylinders for High Temperature Water (HTW) system.
• Charging-in and out CO2 liquid from/to the tanker.
• Defrosting of CO2 condenser. 
• Daily electrical meter reading. 
• Daily water meter reading.
• Evacuation of NH3 plant.
• CO2 purity and dew point checking.
• Air, CO2, HTW, NH3 and Water leakage audit.
• Reverse Osmosis (RO) membrane cleaning.
• Electrical supply – lighting, switchboards.
• Checking and servicing Main Switchboard (MSB) 1, 2, 3 and 4.
• Checking and servicing High Tension (HT) and transformer 1, 2, 3 and 4.
• Call TNB when power failure.

Job Requirements

• With a Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Mechanical/Chemical/Electrical/Electronics or equivalent.
• Minimum AO Electrical Chargeman Competency holder (mandatory)
• At least 2 years related experience preferably in Utility Plant Operation and Maintenance (including Wastewater Treatment Plant and Boiler Operation).
• With sense of responsibility.
• Good leadership, effective communication, interpersonal and supervisory skills, and a collaborative team spirit.
• Keeping superiors and subordinates informed.
• Open minded and good listener.
• Provide clear direction and support.
• Ability to work with minimum resources.
• With Boilerman Competency Certificate holder (minimum Gred 2) or Industrial Effluent Treatment System (Biological Process – CePIETSO_BP) competency certificate holder would be an added advantage.
