About the Role:

As a CBRE Associate Counsel, you will provide legal support services to senior attorneys and other members of the firm.

This job is part of the Legal Services job function. They are responsible for providing legal counsel and guidance in the ordinary and special activities of the organization.

What You’ll Do:
  • Prepare and coordinate documents and litigation review in compliance with various statutory requirements.
  • Provide basic legal counsel and guidance to managers, executives and employees. Process various claims on behalf of the organization.
  • Assist attorneys on litigation matters, special projects and document searches.
  • Coordinate the company's response on subpoenas, production of business records, and who is required to represent the company for court appearances.
  • Confer with external persons, outside counsel, and internal risk management as needed regarding the status of insurance defense matters.
  • Prepare, distribute and publish quarterly reports, periodic statements, and communications.
  • Assist attorneys with mailing the annual D&O questionnaires.
  • Provide legal and administrative support to senior attorneys. This includes scheduling and maintaining calendars, travel, meetings, trials, and court dates.
  • Have some knowledge of standard principles with limited practical experience in applying them.
  • Work within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Analyze information and standard practices to make judgments.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.
  • Impact the quality of own work.
What You’ll Need:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with up to 3 years of relevant experience. Juris Doctorate with limited in-house or private practice experience preferred. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Notary public certification preferred.
  • Ability to present information while having an executive presence.
  • Organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Ability to use existing procedures to solve standard problems.
  • Experience with analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments.
