About the Role:

 As a CBRE Facilities Intern, you will work with clients, vendors, and contractors to ensure that facility tasks and work orders are complete.

This job is a part of the Facilities Management functional area which focuses on all aspects of the operations of a set of assets, providing support to the Property Managers regarding all repairs and investment plans.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist with Maintenance & Repairs: Help with routine maintenance tasks, minor repairs, and troubleshooting issues. 
  • Perform Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify potential problems. 
  • Document Activities: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and operating parameters. 
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures. 
  • Learn and Develop Skills: Gain hands-on experience in various aspects of facilities maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry. 
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized work environment. 
  • Assist with Projects: Participate in various projects, including renovations, upgrades, and new installations. 
  • Follow Procedures: Follow established procedures and protocols for maintenance and repair work. 
  • Communicate Effectively: Clearly communicate issues and findings to supervisors and other staff. 
  • Utilize Tools and Equipment: Learn to safely and effectively use hand tools, power tools, and test equipment. 
  • Troubleshoot Problems: Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing problems with equipment and systems. 
  • Provide Support: Assist other departments with their maintenance needs. 
  • Operate Equipment: Learn to operate and maintain various types of equipment, such as HVAC systems, boilers, and generators. 
  • Learn from Experienced Technicians: Work closely with experienced facilities technicians to learn the trade and develop skills. 
  • Maintain Records: Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and operating parameters. 
  • Follow Safety Procedures: Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures. 
  • Assist with Cleaning: Help with cleaning tasks, such as mopping, vacuuming, and dusting. 
  • Respond to Emergencies: Assist in responding to emergencies, such as power outages or system failures. 

What You’ll Need:

  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Facilities Management, or Technician
  • Ability to develop skills to perform basic activities in own job.
  • Fast learner
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Simple math skills. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.
