About the Role:

As a CBRE Counsel Sr., you will be responsible for providing legal support and guidance services for a variety of overly complex and confidential legal activities.

This job is part of the Legal Services job function. They are responsible for providing legal counsel and guidance in the ordinary and special activities of the organization.


What You’ll Do:
  • Review and negotiate contracts and other legal documents related to commercial real estate, primarily related to services in the United States and Canada. 
  • Provide counsel and legal advice on to managers, executives, and employees on legal aspects of various business lines.
  • Work with the business to prepare client, partner, and other commercial contracts, project-specific legal matters, and assist with business mergers and acquisitions. 
  • Investigate claims and complaints by or against the company and report findings to business leadership. 
  • Resolve pre-litigation disputes and assist the business with alternative dispute resolution issues. 
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard legal principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions. 
  • Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function. 
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement on a range of legal issues. 
  • Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within own team and other related teams. 
  • Work within broad guidelines and policies. 
  • Explain complex or sensitive information to the business in straightforward terms. 

What You’ll Need:
  • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from a recognized institution and admission as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in good standing are required.
  • Min. 10 years of relevant legal experience is required
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information. 
  • Ability to work across multiple countries and jurisdictions across the Americas region.
  • Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions. 
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. 
  • Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
