Req ID: 123234 Summary: Lead Celestica’s global machining commodity strategy. You will drive supplier excellence in quality and technical capability for complex, high-tolerance components used in highly regulated industries. Core Responsibilities: Leadership & Strategy: Lead the Global Commodity Engineering team to drive technical accountability. Develop supply chain strategies for supplier selection, onboarding, and engagement focused on quality, cost, and delivery. KPI & Performance: Define and maintain supplier metrics (KPIs) and technical assessment methods. Conduct periodic Business Reviews and routine audits to ensure compliance with Celestica and industry standards. Technical Education: Resolve supplier capability issues and educate partners on core quality tools, including PFMEA, Control Plans, 8D/Root Cause Analysis, and problem resolution. Customer & Process Interface: Act as the focal point for customer communications regarding supplier changes. Support special processes such as welding, powder coating, plating, and anodizing. Commodity Strategy: Align with managers to implement strategies for CNC, EDM, and multi-axis machining, ensuring top-tier quality and cost-effectiveness. Technical Oversight: Manage supplier adherence to complex tolerances and precision standards. Lead engineering collaborations to solve high-precision manufacturing challenges. Process Optimization: Assess and improve supplier machining processes, tooling, and technology to guarantee minimal variation and maximum precision. Precision Metrics: Establish specific metrics for surface finish, tolerances, and dimensional accuracy across global locations. Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to streamline operations, reduce scrap, and ensure compliance with stringent standards like AS9100 and ISO. Leadership: Ability to effectively lead, manage, train, and motivate a diverse group of employees. GD&T Proficiency: Well-versed in technical drawing interpretation and geometric tolerance (GD&T), especially within high-precision machining contexts. Machining Technology: In-depth knowledge of high-precision machining technologies, such as CNC, EDM, turning, and milling. Analytical Skill: Strong ability to evaluate and implement improvements in machining processes to ensure consistent part quality and efficiency. Communication: Ability to write technical documents that clearly convey complex machining specifications and quality requirements; ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers. Quality Tools: Working knowledge of quality improvement tools and techniques (Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, etc.) specifically within the machining sector. Data Analysis: Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint) for data analysis and presentation of machining-related reports. Celestica is an equal opportunity employer.
