Summary:

We're looking for a Commodity Advisor to oversee a complex group of global and regional commodities for the semiconductor industry. This role is a strategic partner, driving all aspects of sourcing from negotiation to supplier management.

 

Detailed Description:    
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Manage a portfolio of commodities and services, developing and executing a procurement strategy that includes supplier analysis, selection, and pricing.
  • Lead or support major corporate negotiations and contribute to the materials commitment process by analyzing pricing and BOMs.
  • Act as the primary contact for internal site and customer support, and handle all quoting and negotiations.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, including performance reviews and business development initiatives. You'll also interact directly with senior executives from multinational companies.
  • Provide essential product cost support and resolve quality and performance issues for internal customers.
  • Identify and communicate supply vs. demand for allocated products, escalating and resolving any critical shortages.
  • Prepare bids, manage cost analysis, and present them to management.
  • Maintain the material prices database, analyze BOM competitiveness, and ensure compliance.
  • Guide and support junior team members and colleagues at other sites.

 

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field (Commerce or Engineering) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-6 years of experience in commodity management.
  • Extensive knowledge of the marketplace, including industry pricing, technology trends, and supply/demand dynamics.
  • Proven experience in negotiating contracts, stocking programs, and supplier development is highly valued.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including ERP and office systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and conflict management skills.
  • A high level of integrity and a proactive, independent work ethic.
  • Strong desire for continuous learning and a positive, can-do attitude.
