Summary

 

  • Oversee the procurement of all direct and indirect materials required for manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.
  • Manage inventory levels and implement control systems to maintain accuracy and optimal stock levels.
  • Lead overall warehouse and receiving operations, ensuring seamless and efficient workflows

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

 

  • Ensure all purchases are conducted in compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
  • Manage the procurement of commodities aligned with strategic plans, focusing on cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, ensuring prompt deliveries and resolving supply chain challenges.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms to develop competitive yet collaborative vendor partnerships.
  • Ensure import/export documentation complies with regulations from Local Authorities and internal company procedures.
  • Oversee warehouse and receiving operations to ensure efficient material handling, storage, and dispatch.
  • Implement and maintain inventory management systems to improve accuracy and support production needs.
  • Identify and develop training programs to upskill team members and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders across all levels, fostering collaboration and trust.
     

 

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

 

  • Educational Background: Degree in Business Studies, Purchasing, Materials Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 8 years of working experience in Supply Chain Management or equivalent roles in manufacturing.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of materials management and inventory control systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with SAP/S4 systems (preferred).

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent negotiation and communication abilities to foster effective relationships.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with Customs regulations and GST/SST compliance is essential.
  • Authority Liaison: Ability to manage and coordinate with local authorities such as Customs, SST, DOE, and others.
