As a Quantity Surveyor you will build and scale our cost management systems, turning drawings and specifications into accurate budgets, tender packages and measurable savings. You will work across project teams to set cost baselines and improve how we bid and control project spend.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities

Cost Management

  • Prepare detailed bills of quantities and estimates from drawings and specifications for building and civil works.
  • Maintain cost control through interim valuations, progress claims and final accounts.

Contract & Procurement

  • Prepare tender documents, evaluate bids and recommend award decisions based on cost and programme fit.
  • Administer contracts, manage variations and process payment certificates in line with contract terms.

Reporting & Site Support

  • Attend site to verify measurements, track progress and resolve measurement or cost queries with site teams.
  • Produce clear monthly cost reports and collaborate with project managers to monitor budgets and forecasts.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying for building or civil projects, preferably within the Malaysian construction market.

Hard Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong experience in Bills of Quantities, measurement using SMM or equivalent, and cost estimation methods.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and experience with cost control or estimating software; basic AutoCAD skills are an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes and local construction practice in Malaysia.

Soft Skills & Qualities

  • Clear communicator in English and Malay, able to present cost data to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented, organised and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Practical negotiation skills for dealing with subcontractors and suppliers.
