As a Safety Officer you act as the backbone on site, making safety practical and visible so projects run on schedule while protecting people and assets.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities

Site Safety & Inspections

• Perform daily site inspections to spot hazards and issue clear, actionable corrective measures.
• Manage permit-to-work procedures and maintain up-to-date safety documentation for all high-risk activities.

Compliance & Reporting

• Ensure work complies with DOSH regulations and company safety standards, and prepare documents for audits.
• Lead incident investigations, produce concise reports, and recommend practical changes to reduce repeat incidents.

Training & Emergency Response

• Deliver toolbox talks and hands-on safety briefings to keep crews informed and focused.
• Maintain emergency response plans, organise drills, and coordinate first-response actions when needed.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 5 years of relevant construction site safety experience.
• Diploma or certificate in Occupational Safety, Construction Safety, or a related field; NEBOSH or equivalent safety certification is preferred.
• Familiarity with local regulations and prior exposure to large construction projects are advantageous.

Hard Skills & Knowledge

• Competence in risk assessment, safety audits, and incident investigation methods.
• Practical knowledge of DOSH regulations and Malaysian construction safety standards.
• Experience with permit-to-work systems, emergency planning, and clear safety report writing.

Soft Skills & Qualities

• Communicate clearly with diverse teams and present safety points in a practical way.
• Stay calm under pressure, pay attention to detail, and follow through until issues are resolved.
• Work collaboratively with contractors and site staff, showing a supportive and hands-on approach.
