Job Description

Key Objective

The position is responsible for overall in charge of day to day Reporting Analysis & Treaty Reporting of the Finance Department.

Major duties and responsibilities

Financial Analysis

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission Board papers, variance analysis on BNM submission.
  • Liaise with other departments in obtaining information to support the monthly and quarterly financial performance analysis for the Financial Controller and Chief Financial Officer.
  • Preparation the full set of Risk-Based Capital (RBC) forms for the Company on a quarterly basis and variance analysis of the RBC submission
  • Review and ensure the accuracy of all reports prior to submission
  • Identify areas of improvement and continuously improve the efficiency of the analysis process
  • Drafting the full set of Financial Statements (interim and financial year end).
  • Preparation of the company’s deferred tax computation
  • Ensuring all other regulatory submissions are submitted on time (e.g. PIDM, CBC, etc)
  • Develop SOP/ Working Instructions for treaty reporting team

Treaty Reporting

  • Manage and lead the treaty reporting team (both global and local treaty) in all treaty reporting matters and statements rendered to the reinsurers.
  • Identify areas of improvement and continuously improve the efficiency of the treaty reporting process
  • Review and ensure the accuracy of all reports submitted to the Reporting team
  • Review and complete Blackline reconciliations.
  • Others
  • Oversees Chubb Tempest Reinsurance Ltd, Labuan Branch, an affiliate company of Chubb MY.
  • Assist in the development of finance staff.
  • Ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned by superior.


Job Requirements

Qualifications

Skills

  • Strong people and financial management skills and good analytical & planning skills
  • Experience in complex financial accounting process and procedures
  • Computer literacy 
  • Sound judgment with good financial acumen
  • Ability to think and act innovatively within the stipulated regulatory guidelines
  • Good relationship building skill

Experience

Minimum 7 years experience in finance and accounting, preferably with insurance industry

Qualifications

Minimum Degree Holder or Professional Accounting Qualification recognised by MIA
