Job Description

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented 3D Design Intern to support the design and development of 3D printed products. The intern will work closely with our team to design functional and aesthetic products for the mechanical keyboard and desk setup ecosystem, while learning the end-to-end process from concept to physical prototype.

Job Requirements

3D Product Design

• Design 3D models for products such as mechanical keyboard accessories, desk organizers, keycap holders, stands, and other desk setup tools. 
• Develop functional designs optimized for 3D printing (FDM / resin).
• Convert sketches or concepts into accurate 3D CAD models.
   

Prototyping & Iteration

• Prepare and optimize files for 3D printing (STL/STEP formats). 
• Work with the team to prototype and test prints, identifying design improvements.
• Modify designs based on feedback, print performance, and usability.
   

Design Research

• Research trends in mechanical keyboards, desk setups, and productivity accessories.
• Study ergonomics and practical usability for desk accessories.
• Explore creative product ideas suitable for small-batch manufacturing.
   

File & Design Management

• Maintain an organized library of design files and product versions.
• Document design specifications and printing parameters.
   

Collaboration

• Work with the product and workshop team to design accessories that complement our custom mechanical keyboard ecosystem.
• Support the development of new merchandise and workshop-related products.
   

Learning Opportunities

• Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping and 3D printing workflows 
• Product development from idea → prototype → final product
• Exposure to the mechanical keyboard community and maker culture
• Understanding small-scale product manufacturing and design optimization

Preferred Skills

• Basic knowledge of 3D modeling software (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Blender, or similar)
• Interest in 3D printing and product design
• Basic understanding of mechanical keyboard accessories or desk setups is a plus
• Creative mindset with strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to iterate designs quickly based on feedback
