Job Summary
Responsible for managing the organization’s procurement activities and controlling overall costs to ensure efficient operations and profitability. This role oversees purchasing strategies, supplier management, budgeting, and cost analysis to achieve financial targets without compromising quality or service.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Management
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with company goals
- Source, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers for best pricing and terms
- Issue purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods/services
- Maintain an approved supplier list and monitor vendor performance
Cost Control
- Monitor and control company expenses against approved budgets
- Analyze cost structures and identify opportunities for savings
- Prepare cost reports and provide recommendations to management
- Implement cost-reduction initiatives without affecting quality
Budgeting & Financial Oversight
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts
- Track departmental spending and highlight variances
- Ensure cost allocation is accurate and transparent
Inventory & Stock Control
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent overstocking or shortages
- Coordinate with operations to ensure optimal stock levels
- Conduct monthly stock audits and reconcile discrepancies
Supplier & Contract Management
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms
- Build strong supplier relationships for long-term value
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and company policies
Process Improvement & Compliance
- Develop and enforce procurement policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements
- Identify inefficiencies and improve procurement and cost-control processes
Cost Control & Reporting
- Monitor and control company expenses against approved budgets
- Analyze cost structures and identify opportunities for savings
- Prepare regular cost control and purchasing reports (weekly, and monthly)
- Present financial and procurement reports to management with actionable insights
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cost efficiency and procurement performance
