Job Purpose

This position is a country role part of the inventory central team, and to lead inventory control & management program at a national level. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with a strong background in logistics and inventory control, capable of overseeing the efficient management of CL inventory. This role involves strategic planning, responsibility for inventory control approach standardization, as well as leading compliance & process governance through inventory audits and promoting best practices implementation.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive inventory control strategies and policies, in line with the company's regional inventory program & framework.
  • Standardization of inventory processes and systems across the sites and contracts to ensure day-to-day inventory control operations are managed consistently, efficiently, and effectively.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of standard inventory performance & reporting systems to track and analyze key performance metrics. 4. Drive KPIs and lead initiatives to identify &
  • Eliminate root causes of inventory discrepancies, by working closely with contract managers and the operation inventory team on the execution and results.
  • Work with finance with financial provision figures to mitigate any cost impacts.
  • Drive compliance & governance; manage and execute rigorous inventory audit/ validation exercises, according to the company's regional audit program.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for cost savings/ improvements. Proactively propose solutions to management.
  • Generate detailed inventory reports for management, interface with customers, and provide strategic insights.
  • Implement best practices for inventory accuracy, including introducing standard tools and materials for regular cycle counts, audits, physical counting, and reconciliation activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement in inventory management processes and technology utilization.
  • As an effective employee trainer, provide regular performance feedback and training to inventory control team members.
  • Implement Business Inventory Policy and Guidelines (for new contracts and renewals).
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines in inventory handling.

 

Knowledge, Experience & Skills

 

Education & QualificationsTertiary qualification in business, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field (preferred).

 

Experience

  • Min. 5 years of working experience in logistics warehousing or a related field.
  • Experienced in inventory management and industry best practices.
  • Experienced in the planning, execution, and management of cyclical and annual physical counting, involving a large operation and with a diverse SKU base.

 

Specialist Knowledge & Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Strong Excel skills to populate and analyze data.
  • Proficiency in using WMS, or any other inventory management software.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and project management.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • An effective employee trainer, able to train 

 

Interpersonal & Communication Skills

  • Hands-on, effective leadership and team management abilities, with a commitment to coaching and mentoring.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers.
  • Strong customer service and customer relationship management orientation, with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • Possess the ability to work productively and independently, agile, and proactive approach to work.
