We focus on practical, quality-driven repair work that matters to production lines and field service clients.

As a PCB Process Technician / Engineer you will build and scale our repair and rework capability, turning hands-on soldering, replating and PTH restoration into repeatable processes. You will standardise service reports and repair documentation so Production and Quality can reduce rework and meet delivery timelines. Success means higher first-pass repair rates, fewer repeat defects and confident customer support on site.

Your Growth & Impact

• Advance your hands-on repair skills with routine work on SMT and THT assemblies, manual soldering and desoldering, replating and PTH restoration using microscopes, precision tools and test equipment while observing IPC standards.
• Expand your field experience by delivering on-site repairs and technical support to customer locations, sharpening troubleshooting under real-world constraints and improving client-facing communication.
• Strengthen your process expertise by standardising repair procedures, writing clear service reports, and supporting root cause investigations to reduce repeat failures and improve traceability.
• Build strong cross-functional links by working closely with Production, Engineering and Quality teams to meet production schedules and quality targets, and gain exposure that prepares you for senior process roles.
• Develop disciplined practices in ESD control, documentation and 5S while participating in continuous improvement initiatives that increase repair throughput and professional credibility.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities

Repair & Rework Operations

• Execute PCB repair tasks including via, pad, trace and plated-through-hole restoration using microscopes and precision tools.
• Perform manual soldering, desoldering, component replacement and circuit restoration to meet IPC and company standards.
• Carry out replating and surface restoration according to engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Inspect repaired boards with visual checks and electrical continuity tests to confirm repair quality.

Field Service & Production Support

• Provide on-site repairs and technical support at customer locations, following safety and customer requirements.
• Prepare clear service reports and communicate repair findings to customers and management.
• Support production by resolving PCB defects, reducing rework and meeting repair turnaround targets.
• Travel to customer sites as required and ensure traceability for all on-site activities.

Process, Quality & Continuous Improvement

• Standardise repair procedures, maintain accurate repair records and ensure compliance with SOPs.
• Assist root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to reduce repeat defects.
• Follow ESD control, 5S and safety practices while helping to increase repair throughput.
• Work closely with Production, Engineering and Quality to meet delivery timelines and quality metrics.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Technician: Diploma or Certificate in Electronic Engineering or a related technical field.
• Engineer: Diploma or Degree in Electronic Engineering, Electronics or a related engineering field.
• Technician: Preferably 1 to 3 years experience in PCB repair, rework, electronics manufacturing or production. Engineer: Preferably 2 to 5 years in PCB process engineering, repair/rework, manufacturing or failure analysis.
• Candidates from Sabah and Sarawak are encouraged to apply. The position is based in Melaka.

Hard Skills & Knowledge

• Good knowledge of PCB assemblies, electronic components and SMT/THT production methods.
• Proficient in manual soldering, desoldering, component rework, PTH replating and visual inspection techniques.
• Able to read schematics, PCB layouts and engineering drawings, and use multimeters, oscilloscopes and power supplies.
• Familiar with ESD control and IPC-A-610 / IPC-7711/7721 standards, and basic failure analysis or root cause techniques.
