Job Description

The General Manager, Cloud & Infrastructure Engineering is a leadership role responsible for providing strategic oversight and leadership across enterprise cloud and infrastructure domains, ensuring secure, resilient, and cost-optimized operations. The role spans technology operations and engineering as well as technology governance, FinOps, solution architecture, technical project management, and emerging practices such as DevOps, Release Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and Cloud Platform Engineering. · Multi-Cloud Architecture: Architect and institutionalize secure hybrid/multi-cloud operating models, including production and disaster recovery zones, regulatory network integration, and resilience frameworks. · Operational Resilience: Provide leadership in ensuring enterprise technology uptime and resilience, driving deployments, releases, and enhancements while overseeing 24x7 operational coverage through high-performing teams. · Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to BNM RMiT, MOF CRA, ISMS, and other relevant frameworks through well-architected strategies and structured governance. · Risk & Audit Readiness: Drive proactive tech risk management, continuous governance monitoring, and audit preparedness to maintain regulator confidence and operational integrity. · Resilience & Continuity: Lead disaster recovery setup, resilience testing, and business continuity planning across hybrid environments. · Governance & Forums: Chair technology forums to enforce design integrity, disciplined approvals, and risk visibility. · Financial Stewardship: Drive Cloud FinOps initiatives and Infrastructure expenditure, manage budgets, and ensure expenditure governance. · Leadership & Talent: Build, mentor, and succession-plan high-performing teams, advancing cloud-native, DevOps, TechOps, and AI/ML capabilities. · Executive Reporting: Deliver structured reporting and advisory insights to SLT and executive committees on risk posture, operational health, resilience readiness, and investment priorities. · Strategic Advisory: Act as trusted advisor to C-levels, identifying systemic, operational, regulatory, and talent risks impacting resilience and delivery. WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BE SUCCESSFUL Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. · Certifications in ITIL Foundation / Intermediate / Managing Professional · Cloud Certifications in AWS and Azure. · Project Management Certifications in PMP, Prince2 is an advantage Work Experience · 15+ years of experience in technology, infrastructure, cloud engineering and technology governance with at least 5 years in technology leadership · Proven track record in financial services or regulated industries, with exposure to BNM RMiT and TOGAF ADM methodology. · Hands-on expertise in AWS, GitLab, Terraform, Kubernetes, IaC & CI/CD pipelines, etc. and hybrid cloud models. · Demonstrated success in disaster recovery, resilience engineering, microservices, tech stacks migration, and modernization programs · Proven experience managing 24/7 Operations across multi-cloud and hybrid Production Environments Skills & Competencies · Strategic Leadership - Ability to define and execute medium and long term technology strategies aligned with business and regulatory priorities. · Technical Depth - Expertise across operating systems, databases, network transports, and cloud-native platforms. · Governance & Risk - Strong knowledge of ITSM, technology risk management and service assurance. · Financial Acumen - Skilled in budgeting, cost optimization, and presenting board-ready financial insights. · Resilience & Reliability - Advanced capability in disaster recovery, resilience frameworks, and SRE practices. · Communication - Strong and clear, spoken and written communication with the ability to deliver concise, structured insights to senior stakeholders · Team Development - Proven ability to mentor, develop and sustain high-performing engineering teams with strong career development pathways.
