Job Overview
To assist the Lecturer in preparing the lab for practical sessions and rearranging the lab after use.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare for Biomedical Engineering lab practical session
- Update laboratory inventory
- Care and maintain laboratory equipment and facilities.
- Set up apparatus and equipment used in the laboratory and maintain them in a clean condition.
- Identify and report technical problems related to laboratory materials or equipment to the Lab executive.
- Liaise with the lab executive to discuss equipment requirements, disposable items and work plans.
- Perform cleaning, maintenance and calibration on specific laboratory equipment and resolve issues. Responsible for the proper upkeep of the laboratory workplace.
- Clean laboratory work surfaces and dispose of biohazard waste in accordance with the department’s waste management plans.
- Assists in the completion of the laboratory development programme and work requests.
- Assists the Laboratory executives in all duties related to the laboratory.
- Follow laboratory policies concerning dress code, professional conduct, attendance/punctuality, documentation, performance criteria and other directives as issued.
- Complies with all laboratory safety/infection control policies and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
